It takes a village to raise a child and we are  truly blessed to have Suswara Sangeetha Vidyalayam and Guru Smt. Santhi Medicherla garu as a part of our village. Both our girls are being trained in Carnatic music for the past 5 plus years and we have been reaping so many tangible and intangible benefits through this association.  We are excited about the well rounded musical education for our kids where they can complete the certificate courses all the way to a Diploma. Gurus like Santhi garu are a treasure to keep and rare to find because she has a heart for the kids and teaches them with so much of love and patience! We are happy to see our children enjoy their musical journey and excited to see what future holds.

My daughter Deetya joined in Suswara Sangeetha Vidyalayam when she was 4 years old and later we moved to Seattle and we missed Shanti garu’s classes. Recently we moved back to Atlanta, without any delay we started classes with Shanti garu. That’s a great Experience. I See my daughter growing in Confidence in her music abilities, especially the theory part she corrects me sometimes when I am wrong. It comes from an experienced teacher who cares about the whole person while teaching music.  We got tears out of happiness when my daughter was performing on stage during the annual recital. My son (12 years) and I have been learning Carnatic music at Suswara Sangeeta Vidyalaya for last 3 years under Smt. Shanti garu. She is very knowledgeable and accomplished in Carnatic music and teaches us very patiently and always with a smile on her face. She motivates and supports us to always do our best. She instills in us a deep sense of appreciation to music and the much  needed discipline,  devotion and hard work that helps us to not only succeed in music but in all other areas of life. It was my daughter’s first live music recital, and it was a pleasure to see kids perform with such ease and eloquence. The confluence of the rigor of learning, love of music, and dedication to practice was vivid in the event. Special mention to the orchestra. Orchestra was so good and competed with the vocals (in a good way) that my attention was immersed in it. We were thoroughly present in the moment and, for a short while, forgot the material chaos that is always around us. It was a pure pleasure to be there and enjoy the moment. My interest in music has made me send my daughter to Carnatic music but she never showed much interest attending classes until I started sending her to Shanti Gaaru. Specially the in-person classes has changed the game. My daughter now looks forward to her next class. Teacher has been encouraging me and my daughter just like a calling from god when we needed.
